Welcome!
Welcome to Alpine Pediatric Therapy LLC. We are a small, clinician-owned speech pathology private practice located in midtown Anchorage. We specialize in pediatric language and literacy disorders, including the evaluation and treatment of dyslexia. We strive to serve our Alaskan community with compassionate, evidence-based, and high-quality care.

Language Disorders
Individuals with language disorders tend to experience difficulty in producing and/or processing oral language. This may present as word finding issues, grammatical errors, poor sentence structure, weak vocabulary knowledge/use, and difficulty producing or understanding narratives. These individuals may also struggle with non-verbal aspects of communication, such as understanding figurative language and inferencing. These deficits can contribute to social-emotional and academic challenges if left untreated.
Literacy Disorders
Language and literacy disorders commonly co-occur and can have a reciprocal relationship, especially as a a child gets older. Literacy disorders can involve challenges in word recognition, decoding, reading fluency, reading comprehension, spelling, and written expression. These deficits can also be a result of dyslexia, a language-based learning disorder, which requires intensive, systematic intervention.
Getting Started

Getting Started
1
Evaluation
After we have received a referral from your child's provider, we will schedule an evaluation to identify strengths and areas of need. Finding the root deficit areas will help inform our therapy plan so that we can start working toward meaningful and functional goals.
2
Review Meeting
1-2 weeks following the evaluation, you will meet with the therapist to review the evaluation report, assessment results, therapy recommendations, and provide input about future therapeutic goals.
3
Therapy Services
We will only complete an evaluation if we know that we have a spot on our schedule for your child, so rest assured that therapy can begin as soon as we finalize our report and complete our review meeting. We'll work out therapy length and frequency based on your child's needs.
